These look great. I have a few but rarely fish them. Wondering when and where to use stimulators? Are they considered a dry fly searching pattern?

I have little experience fishing dry flies but I’m thinking those stimulators would be great to use as a hopper dropper set up. I was told to bring some for stream fishing. Might be someone on here that has experience with them?

I almost couldn't believe my eyes.A few years ago, while staying at the Harvest Moon motel in Roblin.I was fishing at the Goose lakes. Came home early[wind].But on the downwind side of the motel. It was covered with, salmon flies.I had no idea ,there was even any flowing water near there. My buddy, said the closes was probably Pine River, east of the town. The lake trout never went after them, they did take chironomids the next day..So your ties all look good to represent ,those stones.Coming from AB.It was quite a shock to see all those stones. was about 3-4 week in May

Hopper was my thought too, just not too much of that on the lakes I fish. Anyone used them on the Red or Assiniboine?
