A great pattern for sure and, as is often said, imitation is the highest form of flattery. In my case, I tie the same basic pattern with some modifications. I use a pink bead, black mohair yarn body and a black marabou tail with some pearlescent crystal flash. I call it the "Pinkie Black." It is one of my best searching patterns when fishing a trout lake. I like a size 10, 3X long with a 1/8" fluorescent pink bead. I have also had success tying a balanced version and fishing it vertically under an indicator. I usually use a brass bead for most applications, but tungsten on the balanced tie drops to vertical quicker.
