Well tomorrow will be 7 days of our 2 weeks isolation and I'm going nuts. I'm sure you fisherman know how I feel...we dont like being stuck indoors. Anyways keeping busy mostly tying new flies. Funny how I think...the first place I want to hit when the season opens is the Red. I know some of you frown on fishing the Red but I like catching fish! So I started tying diff flies I want to try this year and others that worked in the past. Here's a pic of a new fly I want to try. It's a heavy short shank hook. I figured I wouldn't need to add weight for the strong current and it would be versatile for Cats, Carp and silver bass. Hope your all staying safe and if you have time I'd like to see your go to flies for the Red and its application.

Those should work no problem but you may have to use a sink tip line. I use a Type VI sink tip Rio line or at one time Cabela's had a 10 foot Type VI sink tip but I bought them all.If you use a sinking leader that will help as well. 10 ft. with a sink rate of 5-7 ips will work wonders.

Thanks, last year I was adding a sink tip to my sink tip line. I did purchase a full sinking line this winter, I went middle of the line a 3 ips. Hopefully it works!
