I have been a stranger here on the Boards, will try to get a few more posts up before Robert kicks me out 😁! On a recent trip to the Bahamas we used the pictured fly to fish really skinny water that usually ends up with a stripped cast hooking the bottom; Turtle grass or rocky karst. Contrary to popular belief Bonefish will take surface flies. They will bump floating Mangrove leaves looking for Crab "hitchhikers". I have used other floating patterns successfully in the past, but this one is a winner as it is simple and uses a popping action which attracts the fish before they strike! Tied on a size #4 hook.

Thanks for the tip, May be heading to Cuba and take my fly rod along. I will have to tie some of these and give em a try! Depending on where you are going, certainly could be worth your while to take a rod. I've been going there for a number of years (heading back January 19th) so if you are heading out there and I may be able to offer a few tips.
