Looks like you are well on your way Bob. Good dry fly hackle makes a world of difference though. It is pricey, but if you are serious about tying some really durable and high floating dries, good hackle is a must. Alternatively, I have had way more consistent success catching trout out west with dries that are tied with cdc as opposed to conventional hackle feathers, so that is another method of tying dries that you might want to try.

Appreciate the feedback Brian...My brother went out to a small stream in Kananaskis and got 6 brooks on the Blue wing olive so I tried with what I had. I sure want to tie more dry fly so yes I will need to get the proper hackle. Did you make it to Alberta?

Hit a bunch of water in the Crowsnest and East Kootenay areas of AB and BC. The cutthroat and rainbows were very cooperative.
