I have been using clear Sally Hansen Hard as Nails for quite some time and no issues.
Use it on thread after whip finish and on tinsel after wrapping body.
Not sure how it reacts with other materials.
Use Zap A Gap to secure materials such as herl or Mylar, again no issues.

Hard as nails worked great for years, but then I went to Loon Hardhead and found it even better. Recently, I got with the 21st century and acquired a UV cure system. I have to say, if you need any kind of sizeable coating (i.e., not just thread wraps on the head), it really does a nice job and is easy to use. I have tried it on a variety of tinsels, v-rib, etc. and no issues with material degradation.

I fish a lot with chironomids, therefore i will always be covering the bodies with various protectors. They have ranged from head cement in earlier years.Too loon uv thin or Solarez thin today. With the uv resin you achieve some very slick bodies, that also [potentially]glow in the depths.Sally Hansens clear is a great product, used it for years & still do..

I second the Solarez and hard as nails. I especially love coating the UV resin with hard as nails after it cures. Gives it a nice clear finish.

Least if the stuff don't work ,up to snuff, you can return...Best advise was always use new batteries, then the glue isn't tacky..that goes for all uv resins
