I have never been 'commissioned' to tie before but someone from Natural Habitat Adventures wanted to do something nice for a colleague that rescued a dog. That person couldn't keep the dog but a co-worker wanted to do something nice and got me to make a couple of flies from hair of that dog (named Ursula). If you know me I don't name flies outside of what they are but in this case I make an exception. I present Ursula's Urge.

I've tied various patterns with husky hair. The dog sits on the couch beside me when I am tying, what did she expect to happen? clip clip. Sadly, they have not been top performers, hope yours did better than my pooch hair flies.

One of my top whitefish flies is a soft hackle using golden retriever fur. Please don't tell anyone.

Haha. The trick is to not put the vise away so they never know when it's coming.
