I had a good bit of success for pike on this one last year. Just a slight variation on the muddler/bucktail theme:

Check with Pat Trudel when you get there. He fly fishes and has been at Aikens for a long time...should be able to give you some good tips.

Congrats lostman sounds like fun.
Try some articulated flies. Deceivers are pretty easy to tie.

Stoked for you. I used bunnies. Simple and fast. Because really the life span of a fly on a good day is 2 hours.... If that.
Stock up on barred chartreuse and orange/red strips
Early season white/gold (suckers)
The rest of the season perch patterns kill it.
Lots and lots of leader material too. Learn how to rig a leader up fast. Your clients will really appreciate it.
I'm very envious of you.... Damn real life.

Let me know where those Carp sloughs are, I'll give them some attention in your absence.

Any place in particular near Cooks Creek. I live only a couple of miles from the creek and have never really noticed them, although to be honest I have never really paid much attention to CC. Might have to give it a closer look.

no specific spots, lots right in the cooks creek area, lots of low spots and sloughs around that area the creek floods into every spring
