Hey gang, Here's a reel review I wrote on the ECHO Ion fly reel. I was pretty impressed with this reel and it's priced very reasonably in the $70-100 range with spare spools hovering around $30-40. weedbed.blog.com/2012/05/echo-ion-reel-review/Nick

Good review. I've read read a couple other reviews of that reel in magazines, and the consensus seems to be that it's a hard reel to argue with for the price.
I'm invested in a couple of snowbee cartridge reel systems right now (which are also a really good price, especially since the spare cartridges cost $10), but in the future I would take a hard look at that reel.

Ya I picked up an Airflo cartridge reel this winter and after using it this spring, I don't care for it. It's heavy, the drag's ok, but I'm just not impressed.
I'm switching over to the Ion's exclusively for now...along with two higher end Sage's that I have.
