Redington CPS 10 wt. for sale. Price = $150. (Retailed for $300.)
- Excellent condition. Only used a few times. - Fast action but not a broom stick. Stiff butt section/Light tip. - Weighs only 3.9 ounces. - Comes with rod tube and sock. 4 pieces. - Great rod for uplining and throwing big pike flies. - Handles a 400 to 450 grain "Teeny" style line very nic ely. -Would be at home chasing cats on the Red River. -The CPS rods were predecessors to the CPX series. - Will deliver it to a Winnipeg location.
For an interesting insight, go the the Yellowstone Angler's 8 Weight Shootout 2007:
They do a pretty good job explaining the characteristics of a CPS 8 weight there. Many of their comments and findings could be extrapolated to the 10 weight.

highlander: Bissett? Had a summer job there 40 years ago. At that time all the "strange" people in the Province seem to end up living there. Perhaps it's changed.

bctroutteaser: Looks like we will be making a trip out in the middle of March to look at a few homes. Swan River is number one on the list but also have a place in Inglis to check out and another we like in Bissett. So we shall see how it goes.

lockport1850: I agree, a dropper fly can work wonders. Also, consider putting a stinger hook just behind your main fly. You will be surprised how may trout will bite "short", and you get them on the stinger rather than the main hook.
