Picked up the Amundson Wind Warrior Feather Lite reel (rod still in the mail). First glance, must say this is an impressive reel. Feather lite sums in up for sure, super lite. This thing has been made with top shelf precision, you can feel it by just picking it up. No play or slop in the fittings between the spool and the frame, butter smooth drag. I have paid more for reels that are not even as close to as nice as this one. Looking forward to getting the rod and putting them to use as a team. I have used the rod before and am thinking this is going to be one deadly combo. For anyone who puts a ton of time on the water, the combo will definitely make things easier on the arm and shoulder. A rotator-cuff injury from a year ago is usually demanding my attention after a couple days of fishing, but I have the feeling that this combo will elevate a bit of strain. Both from holding up the weight of the rod, as well as casting. Will let ya know the full scoop once I get the rod and put a bend in it.

Beautiful reel Shaneo. I recently bought a Amundson Trend 7/8wt reel and I'm very impressed with it. I fished with it extensively on Clearwater, Footprint and several lakes in the Ducks. I just love the drag on this reel, which handles big fish runs with ease. Also it has a large line/backing capacity.

Good choice Shane. That's exactly the setup I have. Two Amundson Featherlites 4/6 and two 6 wt. 10' x 4 pc. Wind Warrior rods. Well matched setup and I'm sure you'll be happy with it.

Hit the nail on the head with this being a great reel to handle the big fish, super smooth drag and the large arbor sure helped when this guy charged the boat. 10' rod with great backbone, made getting the fish into net-able reach from the tube WAY easier, that didn't occur to me prior to using it but it sure was evident. Rod had lots of punch and did pretty well battling Saturday's winds in the ducks.... 50k+... bad day for the tube. Definitely fell in love with the 10' rod for the tube. Once I learned to let the rod do the work for me, casting further than I normal could became a cinch. Its a very nice set up.

Definitely that extra foot makes all the difference. The 10 footers are especially great with sinking lines in wind. You can confidently cast with cross and head winds with not too much difficulty.
Nice rig bud.

I got to try the wind warrior setup in May, loved it then, and definitely noticed the benefit of the extra foot for tubing. I'm buying the rod but for whatever psychological reason I have a hard time shelling out for the reel.
Sweet setup there shane.
