Just recieved my new rod in the mail today. It's the ECHO Ion 10 foot 7-weight. I'm very stoked about this rod and can't wait to toss it. When I opened the packaging this morning I was very pleased with the workmanship on the rod. Very sleek looking with a matte gray coloured blank and nice guides! The handle is a two-tone cork that is very sharp looking. It also has a nice looking reel seat and a good sized fighting butt. I've talked a few people in the states who have this rod and they love it and have a couple Ions. I'll keep y'all posted on the performance of the rod. I've matched it with an Okuma SLV and intermediate line. I don't have the cash for a better reel right now so I settled with the Okuma. Nick

Nice looking rod. Would like to know how it handles and performs, I'm interested in buying a 10' 7 wt. rod.

Love the rod! I slapped a box of Scientific Anglers intermediate on it and it is a beautiful rod to work with. I've never cast as far from a tube before! And even the shorter casts you still have great control. Simply said, it's now my go-to rod over my Sage rods. If you want a 10ft 7wt, buy this rod.

Robinson's Outdoors in Victoria, BC now carries Echo fly rods. I order'd one through ebay a few weeks back from Gig Harbour Fly Shop in Washington and am still waiting on it.
Wish I would've just gone through them to avoid extended waiting/duty/etc.
Apparently it just cleared customs tho, so any day now!..

Andy, do you know if they carry the 10' 7 wt. Ion rod at that location?

Andy, do you know if they carry the 10' 7 wt. Ion rod at that location? Not too sure. They definately have most of the 9 foot ion's i think. I'm sure they could order one in for you as well. I think mine's showing up today. Might have to make a last minute trip out to barren this evening if it arrives in time.

IT JUST SHOWED UP! ha ha Ended up being about 50$ more after duty/shipping (25$ usd shipping, 24.50 duty/gst/handling). This rod is beautiful. I'm pairing it up with an Amundson Trend reel and will most likely be throwing some intermediate line and a type-3 sink tip or multi-tip on the extra spool. I would reccomend ordering from Robinsons to avoid: waiting time, duty, shipping costs. Wish I knew they carried them 2 weeks back. doh!

Darn it! I just got back from Victoria yesterday. I would have loved to have gone there for one. I could have used it on the Campbell for Pinks.

Robinson's has no 10' 7 wt Ions at the moment, they need to order from their supplier. Not to sure if I'd have the rod in time for my first trip to the parkland. I think I may end up buying a Redington.

I ended up ordering an ION from Robinson's last week. Hoping for it to arrive by the end of the month. Mine cost $219.99 CDN. Nick is that $189.99 US?

Sweet! You won't regret buying the rod! It's wicked for the money. I want to pick up the 6wt version since I broke my Guideline at God's River. With shipping, mine was around $250 CAD from the States. Nick

Received my Echo Ion this last week. A small thing I noticed when putting it together is how nice and snug the rod pieces fit into the ferrules.
