Can anyone recommend a type of polarized sunglasses (preferably for < $100)? Thanks.

Less than 100... go with anything polarized. I don't spend more that 30 bucks a pair. No matter what, they always end up getting trashed. Head into an outdoor's store and find a pair you like. I have never been unsatisfied with the preformance of the lenses in the cheapo sunglasses and I have gone through many pairs. Its really on the quality of frame and glass you are paying for with the $$$ pairs.
Polarized glasses make a huge difference on the water, they are worth the 30 dollars every couple years for sure.

Well I have a pair of Oakley Gas Cans Polarized absolute love them they are a pleasure to have on the water. But they weren't cheap put me back about 190 $. Oh well back to the story, before I bought them I had a pair of cheap polarized Cabeals sunglasses. There was a couple of difference the Oakley cutted a little more glare on the water. Then the other difference was strength. I doped my Oakley's about 20 time and my cabelas one time. My oakley still live on, but my Cabelas are in the garbage. what Im tring to say is that the cheap one work but it doesn't take much to break them.

I agree wellman, but there isn't a pair of glasses alive that can survive the girlfriend shutting them in the truck door.....

Since I need glasses and don't like contacts, I bought a pair of cocoons - fitovers. Yeah, they're dorky looking but they work.
I also have polarized clip-ons for my glasses (they are made to fit the frames), but they are a poor second to actual prescription sunglasses. That's the next purchase (maybe when the next CO OP gas rebate check comes in !)...TIM

I have two pair of Polar Eyes polarized sunglasses. I picked them up through Cabela's. They run about $50-70. Polycarbonate lenses that are scratch resistant. I have the gray and amber lenses and like both. The frames are pretty lightweight but durable.
I've heard Solar Bat sunglasses are really good. They run up to $100 and are available through Bass Pro Shops.
Definitely couldn't survive without my polarized sunglasses. Helps cut glare in the winter and really does let you see fish and fish activity.

Nick
What's the difference between the grey and amber lenses? Under what type of conditions are each best? Thanks.

I prefer the amber lenses as they cover a more broad spectrum of light. A little dark for early morning but perfect for cloudy to bright light. The gray you're pretty much limited to bright sunlight. I wear the amber 99.9% of the time.
I would love to find a pair of yellow polarized! Would be the solution for early morning and rough weather.
