A couple of months ago I was at Reynolds ponds doing some flyfishing from my float tube. As I was casting my rod the top half of the rod flew off. At first I assumed that the top end had just slipped out of the ferrule as it occassionally does. However to my dismay I pulled my rod out of the water to find that the top half of the rod had snapped. Believe it or not, but it so happened that this occured not even a month past the warranty expiration date. I could not believe that my rod broke by casting alone. I was able to jam the top broken end onto the bottom piece of the rod and cast half @$$. However the rod has some cracks near the ferrule and I cannot trust this rod to fight any large fish. I'd like to be able to fix or restore the rod so that I can still use it for some smaller fish. Any suggestions at what I could do?

1st thing I would do is contact Fenwick (which I think is Pure Fishing now)
With all the other companies out there replcing rods 8 to a bar I have no doubt Fenwick will too (despite being out of warrentee)
Would probably have to send the top section(s) or maybe the whole rod.

I'd agree with Rob on that - if you can, get a new rod. If you absolutely can't, it is most likely possible to repair, but may not be as aesthetically pleasing. If it comes to that, drop me a PM and I'll tell you how (no big mystery, really)
