I just went through a warranty session for my Streamside Elite rod, purchased for about $100.00 a couple of years ago from Wholesale Sports.
Basically, I contacted the dealer (C G Emery in Montreal) and they sent out a new rod, without asking me to send back the old one. Now the warranty card says that you have to send back the old rod but, for whatever reason, they waived it for me.
Warranties on these rods run for five years. Even if they had asked me to mail the rod/tip back, it still would have been okay as there are no additional charges. This compares to Sage which, when I last checked, wanted $40.00 for a warranty claim.
Overall, excellent warranty service...not to mention the fact that the rod (10", 9/10 wt) has become my workhorse outfit for cats/carp at Lockport.....TIM

I had the same experience with the same rod and company earlier this year in June. I was very pleased with the service. Unfortunately it took two mail outs from C.G.Emery until they could get a rod properly packed and out to me without arriving broken. I will continue to do business with them. Another experience on the warranty front that I am pursuing is the replacement of my broken Polar Eyes polarized sunglasses. One of the lenses was very loose and ended up falling out of the frame while I had hung the glasses around my neck to tie on a fly. I phoned the company service line in California and was told to send the glasses to them with $6.95 for S/H and they would send out a new pair to me. The missing sales receipt is not supposed to be an issue. I will keep everyone updated on the outcome of this transaction.
