Wouldn't mind learning more from the "experienced" ones again....can learn a ton more just watching.
What time is the Tuesday demonstration....wouldn't mind getting out there and giving it a whirl.
Just getting my flight feathers....hope to be a real fly guy soon!

Fished Sunday 4:30 - 8:30pm. Drum, goldeye, and one big fish (cat?) that ran about 50 yards, stopped and spit my fly. It had a different feel than the big carp I've had on - more of a steady undeterred pull.

I work that night so you boys have fun and get the big ones for me. Will did very well on Sunday , lots of hook ups at this one spot we were at. I had one nice Drum "24 inches " , a bunch of goldeyes , a fair number of hits and two big fish( I'm sure they were cats) , one that had me a fair way into my backing and that other that took me for a walk down towards the River and as far as the bathroom incident goes I had very little sleep and it had been a long day on the water and that as they say is that ;D.....Kim

Just got back from the north shore of the floodway outflow and caught ______ ____ _ _ _____ _____ _____ _____ | ____/ __ \| | | | __ \ / ____| /\ | __ \| __ \ | |__ | | | | | | | |__) | | | / \ | |__) | |__) | | __|| | | | | | | _ / | | / /\ \ | _ /| ___/ | | | |__| | |__| | | \ \ | |____ / ____ \| | \ \| | |_| \____/ \____/|_| \_\ \_____/_/ \_\_| \_\_|
Finally! Three of the four were fair hooked as well! The forth was hooked on the side near the lateral line. That had to hurt! I also had 3 fowl hooked fish shake off near the shore, and one landed drum. Fished from 9:30 till 1:30; an awsome morning! I understand now why everyone has permagrin when fishing those monsters. John is correct, the outflow's levels are dropping quite a bit. The carp seem to be more in the mouth of the outflow, not so much near the floodway's dam. I am heading out again tonight, once my arms stop shaking.

Obviously Lockport has been the place to be of late.....are there any goldeye options available in the South end of the city? Is there any goldeye to be had at the St. Norbert gates?

Was out Tuesday from about 10 - 2 Pm , got a young cat that put up a decent fight. Hooked into two or three big ones that had me into my backing and oh so carefully doing the shuffle down stream. Was on the north side of the floodway working a bunch of pools right near where the floodway enters the main river. Graet way to spend the day before I had to go into work.....Kim

Moved to the north side of the floodway and fished and mostly talked- lol - couple of drum and a 33" cat- everything on a Yellow Allys Shrimp Thanks Freddy for helping me reel in that drum - ))) Methinks I have to explore more of the Red - must be nore good spots between Lockport and the Lake

Holy smokes the bugs are bad. I find the swarm a little distracting.
Anyone see all the carp tailing near the north shore first set of rapids? Some big ones lazing around. Tried to fish them no takers - easter egg bugger and rubber legged hare's ear.
Caught 2 smaller drum, 2 goldeye, had one good fish again lost him after a couple runs.
Fished 7-10pm.

Yep Daryll- John made it back from Pelican Island- after I had to go out there and help him back!!!!!!!!!
Oh wait! no it was he who helped me back after sucking me into going out there and netting his Cats for him:))))))))) I hate wading that river- just waiting for the trip wire/booby trap Spiderwire mess to ensare me.
Fair warning to all- around 8:30 pm the bugs got well BAD!!!!!!!!!

aw Cane - ya shoulda offered the net up front. It seems to ....... create disconnects with the fish that way - and would have save you the trip.
