Hey Robert;
Curious, is it MTS? I am not able to connect to my home FTP account either.

On these clients, there is a passive transfers setting that may or may not need to be cleared. On Core FTP, it is on the site manager dialog box, and says PASV. Try clearing that, or changing it, and see what it gives you.
Let me know, later.

If you like, you can copy the log here and I can take a look.
You can try connecting with the core FTP client. Once it is done trying, right click on the log area at the top, and click on "Select All". Once the text is highlighted (it is white on my system), right click again and select copy. You can paste this into a message. For some reason, Ctrl + A and Ctrl + S don't work on my system. Go figure.
Be careful about what gets pasted. If there is data you are unsure about, delete it after you paste, and before you post.

Hey Robert. Make sure that the checkboxes are cleared for - PASV Transfer
- SSH/SFTP
- AUTH SSL
- AUTH TLS
- SSL DIRECT.
See what that gives you.

THanks guys your input helped (though the specific mistake of ommission wasn't covered it got me thinking my way around the problem)
