Well, I went ice fishing last weekend, to Lockport, and the fishing as slooooowww. I did manage to take home three saugers and, guess what, one was stuffed with Hexagenia nymphs. Haven't seen that before in the winter out there.....TIM

Angler did drown back in November. It was reported in the Free Press that a dive team had located his body last weekend I believe.

nope - the dive team recovery was in Gimli ... the guy that went in, back in Nov., was never found (just his pants, and car keys I believe). He was a guy from here at work - services were held last weekend I believe .....
anyhow - big ice / little ice ..... I'm nervous on it even no matter what - even seeing the auger busting through at 24+ inches ..........

Sorry about that - guess I just read the headline and put 2 and 2 together, ending up with 5. My apologies to all.

Darrell Yup, good to be nervous on the ice, but if you see dozens of shacks and vehicles out there, probably safe

Hey Tim;
Very interesting news. I try and get fishing places that are open water, even in these hard water months.
I was wondering if you had an approximate size of these nymphs?
