Howdy,
Just wondering about a reel that I bought recently ....
For the last couple of years I've used beginner (cheap) $150 rod/reel packages that were (at least) as good as my abilities. Actually, they're probably still as good as my abilities.
Maybe better, actually ...
But, in a moment of weakness ... maybe a moment of celebration ... I bought a beautiful new reel that cost more than all the earlier rod/reel/line/leader combos that were still serving me just fine thank-you-very-much.
The Streamside Harmony 5/6 reel at Wholesale Sports seemed even better than the Pfleuger Trion (a well-regarded reel on the Internet) and was only another tank-of-gas more exoensive.
Here's the kicker ... when I got home, I learned that not even the mighty Google search-engine has ever heard of that reel.
I contacted the Canadian distributor of the reel. See below.
They were too busy to answer. It seems like a great reel ... but I think I'll never get a spare spool.
When it comes to customer service, I think that Canadians could learn a lot from our American friends.

Hi guys,
A few days ago I walked into Wholesale Sports here in Winnipeg and (after pawing over about a dozen fly reels) I splurged on the gorgeous Streamside Harmony 5/6 that was so impressive.
And then I ordered a spare reel ... as best I could. Neither it (or even the reel) was in the company's fresh new catalogue.
The only trouble is ... the reel (and the spare spool) wasn't listed in the company's new fly-fishing catalogue. It's not even listed on your company's website, and (get this) not even the mighty Google search engine can reveal anything about the reel. Very spooky ... Google goes everywhere!!
