Well I finally got to put the new rod to the test. Took it out on the Fathers day weekend but didn't get much use of it as it was quite a windy weekend. I did manage to land 2 smallies but they were caught within mere feet of the dock. Today I took it to the Red. WOW does this rod cast good or what, it sure kicks the crap out of my old buggy whip not to mention the cork feels so much better than the foam rubber. I could never figure out why the need for so much backing when the fly line is so long. Well I see now, when you can cast out enough of it that you can see the backing on the reel there might be a chance for a fish to get you into it. While that never happened today although I probably caught close to 50 goldeye and 1 black crappie?. I don't know if it was a black crappie but it was a crappie. Didn't know that there where any in the Red. Well by the end of the day I was even pulling of the odd double haul here and there. They weren't kidding when they say that you will cast better. Well worth the $ .

Good to hear you are enjoying your new rod. And good to hear you caught fish on it ;D
I believe there are Crappie in Netley Creek, so the odd one would probably stray into teh river.

How good is the warranty on these rods I used mine everyday for the last 2 months and on Saturday the first foot or so just snap off as I sent the hook. I also noticed that one of the ends of one of the eyes is poking through the threads.Any advise on what to do would be greatly appreciated. Bought the rod at the hole how are they with things like this.

I have no experience with sage but the few warrenty probs I had at 'The Hole' were very easy.
I was dealing with Stu directly though.
I would talk to Wade and bring the reciept.
