I've quite familiar with Scientific Anglers instructional materials and I've experience a few of Lefty Kreh's works on casting but "George Roberts' Saltwater Flycasting: 10 Steps to Distance and Power" is the best resource I have ever come across when it comes to explaining the basic principles behind any good cast. The title gives one the impression that the video would pertain to just to the saltwater flyfisher wanting to cast 100' to tarpon or bonefish; however, in reality ALL of the info on this tape is applicable to anyone who wants to cast a fly rod.
He especially does a great job explaining how to properly load your fly rod (just lengthen your casting stroke!!!) and why loading it is so important to the cast. I think watching this tape is bound to improve anybody's cast. At the very least, after watching it, you can wade into any magazine article on flycasting and know exactly what the author is trying to say.

Questions:
Does he deal much with shooting heads or is it strictly a distance cast with conventional fly lines?
Where did you get this video?

It's mostly with conventional lines. He does a small section on "Belgian" casting with weighted flies and heavy heads. I got it at Cabelas.
Do you know of any videos that have a lot of footage of someone fishing with a shooting head or integrated head? That's something I would be very interested in.

Dan Blanton would be proud.... But, seriously Rob, what kind of head(s) and running line are you thinking of?

I am probably going to make my own heads by chopping some lines but I am leaning towards this as a running line...
