eeegad - nice stuff. Although leaves me to wonder - aside of being virtuals - are they any more effective than the imitations currently / widely used But ...... me being .... well, me ... will try one or 2. Maybe do my own fish count .............

The hours spent perfecting the techniques and tying time would make these very expensive flies to fish. As far as whether they would work I have no doubt. Many of the patterns would reguire a dead drift style of presentation. What makes impressionistic as opposed to realistic patterns look so good to the fish is that all that Maribou,CDC,feathers and deerhair comes alive in the water and we can impart a retrieve that enhances real actions of these flies in the water. one of the tiers in this site says that it takes him at least amonth of preperation before he even starts to tie one of these patterns. That's more time at the vice than fishing but i can appreciate the art form.

i think the "Ammonite Nymph" could be modified to be a relatively easy tie. And the colours and materials can easily be adapted to local conditions
But ya some of those 'flies' look too good to waste on a fish
