Every now and then you hear about a place - for us, it'll be a water hole hot for...fish. But where is it. If you know a name - use the link below and set the known parameters - and it will give you the options. geonames.nrcan.gc.ca/search/search_e.phpAs long as the name searched, lets keep with waterbody search, is a name for the waterbody, as defined by Natural Resources - then it will find it. I've tried it out - testing Lyons Lake, Milner Ridge Pond, William Lake, Black Lake (ok, so I played with it) - and the co-ordiantes they give you are pretty much right on (should - they come off topo's). Also - they'll note the relevant topo map for you, land title (section, township, range). It will even give mileage to the water froma set place (haven't had much success there).

That is an awesome tool. I wish the governments would put the maps of the lake on there too...
I did find one flaw, nothing came up for "Aaron's Pond" I will call Natural Resources and register my complaint in the morning. ;D
