Has anyone any thoughts on Patterson Lake, which I believe is right by Tokaryk. I have never fished Tokaryk (..."and you call yourself a flyfisherman...?" ) but I would like to give it a whirl this spring. Would Patterson be worth visiting too?

Patterson has good potential. It's one of FIPPR's project lakes and is aerated. The launch area is fairly crude but with a bellyboat, canoe or cartopper it is not a problem. There has been agood stolking of fish now for a couple of years with several different sizes put in. I think they threw in some old brood stolk for the CFFC last year . The lake is fairly big with some islands which is a rarety in pothole country. The lakes are a little over a mile apart so you could easily fish both in the same day. if you are planning on camping go to Seech lake. Nice camp ground with showers and is on a spring fed lake that is almost as clean and clear as Clear Lake. A great central location for some of Parklands nicest scenery and fishing. The Town of Clear lake is only 30 minutes away to the east and Russel is about 45 minutes to the West. Bob Sopuck a Outdoor writer and FLIPPR board member lives in the area and gets all his inspiration for his writing here.

Not sure if its still true but we camped at Seech a couple of years ago and there was a real hassle between a local landowner and the Seech Lake campground folks. The Landowner came and yep you guessed it i became the focul point of the issue- wether the Landowner or the Seech Lake folks got the camping money- it was a real pain and spoiled what was an otherwise nice weekend with the family. I beleive at one time Patterson was home to some VERYYYYYYYYYYY large pike befor a severe winter kill so it has been very fertile in the past. Pssst Arrow Lake pssst Arrow Lake down the road psst Arrow Lake:)))

Seech lake campgroundis operated by the oakburn Fish and Game. They started the stolkings in Tokaryk Lake and have done some good work there. Whenever you get people on two sides of an issue your going to have conflict I quess especially about money. On the whole my experiences up there have been positive. If you go back there go to Olha and ask the lady in the store for a tour of the Church you will be amazed at what you'l see.
