I have hear tell of a alternate way into there. Mostly I would like to have more of a gradient for launching the tube.
I heard there is a smoother trail that is about the same time to take but puts me entering at the other side of the lake

I have also heard of that, and searched for it this winter, but couldnt find it. I know it is down the pipeline road. You take the route to Camp, and then turn West...
Anyone headed that way this weekend, I have Fri-Sat-Sun semi-open, and wouldnt mind a BrownTrout trip if it was nice weather. Gimme a shout if interested, or if anyone is interested in a gettogether on my pond...275-1049.

Take 301(it parallels the #1 heading east) at the Falcon lake turnoff - turn right at the Faloma/Toniata turnoff and left at the Toniata turnoff- you,ll see an old gravel pit on your left about 1 km along the road, keep going to the firecut on the right and park there- the Pipeline is visible on your left or walk round the bend and its there too( it looks like a cart track or farm road). Walk down the trail you,ll cross a small "creek" connecting two marshy areas on either side of the trail, go up the hill and about 30 yards from the crest of the hill is a trail and sign for McHugh to your left . Camp is just a little further down the same Pipleline Rd and to the right- you have to poke around for the trail down to Camp off the Pipline.. This gets you to Mchugh just east of the rock ledges in the little bay at the south end of McHugh. Its much nicer for canoe launch than the North trail bay . Takes about 20 mins dragging a canoe on a cart. Hope that helps Falcon Lake 52E/11 is the map ref- the Pipline Rd is the dotted line crossing the Toniata rd.
