I am looking at lakes in the area by road or some walk in.
Are these lakes filled with fish or are they kinda aof shallow and suject to winter kill?
I see Katie and Shoe fly are close to the road and Oskar has had some MA pike pulled out.
Anyone have experience with these other lakes.
(I have a tube and do not want to compete with motor boats)

Robert, those lakes are way to shallow and they freeze to the bottom every winter. As for Oscar Lake I asked my dad and he said he's never heard of anything coming out of oscar, he thinks it's a different oscar lake. He said if there was any big pike in oscar it would have been like 40 or 50 years ago, before the master angler program started. I know they stocked George Lake with 200 pike last fall. George is across the road of bower and adam. They also put 200 pike in Storman Lake at the peace gardens on the manitoba side. There used to be rainbow Trout in Storman 9 or 10 years ago and the only problem they had was with the blue herons and the cormorants. they cleaned the trout right out of there before they could grow up. I can see the pike surviving in Storman but George Lake is a big ? mark. I'm friends with Bruno Bruderlin the fishery tech's daughter so I talk to him once in a while. He said a few months ago that they were going to start some tests on whether or not they can stock any lakes with any fish species. There is a lake called Poker Lake, we pass it all the time on snowmobiles. It's the best possibility for trout because it is a fairly deep lake with good oxygen levels and it's off the beaten path a few miles.
I was thinking about putting my float tube into adam lake this spring. They seem to be surviving pretty good in there. I know there's lots of people catching pike off the shore and there's very few if any boats. I'll keep you updated if I hear of anything Ryan
