Has anyone fished Bear Lake - Whiteshell.
I see they dump a good number of Bow's (5k) and Brook (750) in there annually - and from the topo - its not a huge lake.
Do they survive / or are they feeding the pike ?

Used to (4-5 years ago) hike in to Bear each year in late Apr/early May. Wife, 2 sons and I all caught and released MA rainbow. Saw a few tubers each year. Not sure about winterkill but stories I heard talked about a lot of winter activity via snowmobile and overfishing.

my understanding of bear lake is few people have gone there in the last winter or two. a couple have tried but did not make it all the way. one group walking, gave up to much snow and no trail and the other broke a ski on there trailer and gave up at the last marsh because of deep snow. so i would be thinking it probably would be worth a trip for someone with a tube.

Just make sure you leave you car door open. The biggest problem is leaving your car parked and having some dumb, stupid, ****###$$**** braking into your vehicle. When fishing was hot a couple of years ago there were 10-15 cars broken into in one afternoon. Other than that if you want to try it it should produce this year.
