There was some leader talk here so i have a page started on the topic of Tying Your Own Leaders Right now all i have in there is a table with the "X" factors/diameters and lb test for maxima 15lb - 2lb. Darrell has written a little story on his trip to fly fishing some of you guys have your name in there so ya better read it Darrell's storyAlso i have noted that for what ever reason some of you have multiple memberships here. I know some have had trouble logging on and have just created a new membership. So to cut down on any confusion and to get a truer picture of how many members we have i have deleted the older of any memberships that used the same email addy. If i accidently poofed the wrong one i am sorry if, though, you are having troubles logging on then please email me first.... but before that make sure you have your cookies enabled and and all that other internet stuff going on. rb

If your really serious about tying your own leaders I would recomend going to the Global Fly Fisher site and downloading the leader calculator they have there it is the best I've seen yet. There is also a workshop there for tying leader which is printable. The pros and cons for making your own leaders are many. You don't have to be pigeonholed into using what the manufactors think you need and and you can can experiment to see what works for you. I've dabbled in them but have found it too time consuming to make them and keep them sorted out in the field. I quess I'm just too lazy. once you find the formulas for your type of fishing they will improve your presentation immensly.
