Well I guess this is it for fly fishing this year. I don't how the fishing was for you all but mine was very improved. One reason was my own resolve to expand my horizons. But one of the main things that improved my fly fishing this year was my computer. Yes that is right my computer!
I bought this thing (my first one ever) in January of this year. Surfing the net and the huge resource it provided open my eyes and expanded my knowledge. The component that helped a lot was the local stuff. There was not much but what I found was good (but I saw a need for more) I had a lot of years fishing my home waters but I am still a newbie at fishing around here. But by sharing knowledge we can reduce the learning curve considerably!
To that you who have participated in this forum have contributed to it. Your reports, stories, tips and questions have been a great boon to me and I suspect a benefit to others.
Who are the others?? Well they are the ones who read this board but maybe don¡¦t belong or participate. In internet jargon they are called "lurkers". This sounds a little evil and these people are not! Some may be looking for tips or hints to help their bait/spin fishing. Some may be fly fishers who just want to read and wait till they feel ready to add or ask something. But the majority, I think, are those curious about this past time.
As previously stated I figure this site will slow way down during the winter (except those of us embarking on fly tying) and so to you I say have fun, check in once in a while, check out the mbflyfishing.20m.com/ as I will be adding stuff all summer long. Pardon the pop-ups for now I am going to get rid of them although I suspect most if not all of you have a popper stopper but when I turn mine off to look at it I don't like it. Nothing x rated but annoying downloads that get in the way blah blah blah.
The message board has some ads on it but the pop-ups are gone but as I do this out of my own time and money ..well I am sure you all understand.
I am still looking for your stories, pictures and flys!!
