Hello On Sunday November 2, you are invited to join with your fellow fly fishermen and wet a line in a privately owned project trout pond. The pond is fairly small (less than an acre) and had its first stocking of rainbow trout this past spring. The main objective is to meet one another (do not bring any of your buddies) and have one last chance at a 2003 salmonoid. If you are interested, you can send me an instant message using this site or email me directly at finface@hotmail.com with a first name and phone number, so that I can phone you with directions to my yardsite, which is around ten minutes south from the junction of the Perimeter and Pembina Highway. If you are uncomfortable with giving out your phone number, contact me anyway, and we can discuss an alternative. The time I had in mind, is somewhat debatable at 3:30-5:30pm, it revolves around the key feeding time (sunset) and I do not want the length to be an overkill, whereas the pond size is not overly large...We should also keep in mind that the Bomber's kick off at 6pm. So if anything the time would be extended earlier. I guess it goes without saying that this is flyfishing only, except for Robert, being the administrator, who may use spinning tackle if he wishes ;D I am quite open to suggestions, comments, concerns, questions, whatever, and so forth, etc. Aaron Wiebe Ps. Well y'all missed it: -7 with a good north wind no fish no hits ;D Still it is good to get out and strech the line one more time. If this was it for the year then it is just one less day till I get to do it again in 2004. As i was leaving, near sunset, Aaron was on his way back to try his luck. Talk about a die hard fly fishing in the cold on his 17th birthday! Hope ya got one rb

Brrr...-7....winter....
Looks like we just barely fit that in Robert. The next morning there was a nice clear thick sheet of hard stuff sealing the fly fishing away for 5 months. I suspect that, with the exception of a miracle, we are all done, even the Red in St. Norbert is pretty much frozen up. We are going to be ice fishing EARLY if this keeps up. ;D

To Bad you aren't here in Alberta <im soon to be a manitoban>. The bow and corwsnest are still taking rainbows and browns as well as rocky mountain whitefish. You can fish the crowsnest year round with good success.
The Red Deer river is still slamming rocky mountain whitefish on bead head pheasant-tail nymphs, and the browns are nailing clouser minnows.
A little off topic, but just wanted to make you jealous, jk

Your to late,
I moved from Edmonton in September and I have a good friend in their (Doc) and he and the boys are constantly informing me on how good the Bow is fishing.
So I've been jealous for over a month now.

A friend of mine living near the Duck mountains ice fished on Gull Lake Monday (3 inches of ice) and picked up a nice 20 inch rainbow and 15 inch splake. I think we're real close to getting out on the smaller lakes here. I may try Lyons or Hunt by Tuesday. Should be frozen solid by then with these cold days and nights. Sure beats sitting inside. Thane
