Just wondering when ice off typically occurs in the Roblin area?

On an average year, late April for the smaller lakes. This year probably early May? . . . we haven’t had any real melting temperatures. Things can change quickly if the weather cooperates. If you check the Manitoba Master Angler Record book (link below) and search records for some of the busier lakes in April / May you will get a good idea when the ice comes off For Twin Lakes:as an example; in 2022, they were ice fishing on May 1st, first ice free catch posted was May 14th. (2022 was late) in 2021, they were ice fishing on April 20th, first ice free catch posted was April 23rd. in 2020, they were ice fishing on April 28th, first ice free catch posted was May 2nd. in 2019, first ice free catch posted was April 27th and you can still see ice on the lake. anglers.travelmanitoba.com/master_angler_search.aspPhil Paczkowski (Patch’s Bait and Tackle. - 204-247-0055) in Roblin would have a better handle on dates and current conditions in the Roblin area. Hope that helps. Dave
