Hey everybody!
Happy to be part of the forum! I’m pretty new to Fly Fishing and now it’s all that’s on my mind lol
I actually got a fly rod 5 years ago and only this year actually opened it up from the box, put it together and took it out this summer. After some lessons from Robert Burton and some guided trips, I got my goal of getting some fish on th fly before the end of the year!
So far have gotten some brown and rainbow trouts, goldeye, and one pike (Robert knows I only “half-count” this one LOL)
The goal is to be able to only use the fly rod and catch as many different species as possible on it by using all the different and unique techniques, tools and presentations in fly fishing.
Looking forward to meeting the lot of you.
Tight lines!
Nico

Very cool, you've done well so far. When I first started I caught more trees than fish. Bass are lots of fun. Where is the middle picture from?

Welcome to the fly fishing world. I just started fly fishing a couple of years ago and I’m totally addicted. I prefer fly fishing in my float tube or wading then using my boat. I think I did very well this year with a master brown. Come May, June I fish the Red River a lot for cats, carp, goldeye and drums. Looking forward to next year after my winter fishing in Florida. keep up the good work.

I started fly fishing in the mid 90's, piece of crap rod, horrible line, I didn't know any better. Had a blast with pike in the reedy bays in lac du bonnet from a canoe. Joined the MFFA a couple times, took a few of the courses they put on and did some of the tying, good learning was had there. Hiring a guide and jumpstarting things is likely very wise. Lots of fishing to be had around here, the stocked trout spots seem very overrun but water everywhere. My focus lately has been more native species, whitefish, lake trout, walleye, can't help but catch pike, and bass even thought they aren't really native. All very reachable with a fly, except the lake trout that has to be early before they head to the deep.
