This is my first report on here so bare with me, anyways I'm 16 and got into flyfishing a few years back and started out at Birds hill park, caught my first 3 trout there and then after that lake turned into quite a mess, I decided to try the red, long story short, this years been my first year I really got into flyfishing the red. Went out today, waded into the floodway and within minutes, hooked into a huge fish, ended out fighting it for about a solid 10-15 minutes, and pulled a really nice kitty, literally 3 casts later, I hooked into another fish, I could tell it was a kitty once my line went well into my backing within seconds. After another solid fight, pulled out a kitty, this time a little smaller, but never the less. My arm getting soar now from about 2 consecutive fish, a few casts later I hook into another nice cat, but this once was much bigger, and put up a damn hell of a fight. It went well into my backing multiple times, and finally managed to pull it out, my hand was literally tired of ~1 hour of constantly pulling cats. It was a thrill you could only get from fly rod, and I'm glad I took it up. First kitty Second Kitty Final kitty I only ended up being an hour there due to a storm closing in.

Good job. There's probably a reason you caught those cats in such short order ... pre-Thunderstorm

Very nice. Spillway is great place to have some fun on a fly rod. You can catch pretty much anything that is in there.

Haven't been down in a week, but the cats were on fire. Given you hit the water at the right time
