The gloomy weather earlier in the day had me worried, but decided to go anyway.
Went up to Lockport last night with my Dad, and had a great time. I hadn't been there for a few years, and last time I was there, I got skunked.
There were a number of anglers on the water, and over the course of the evening there were 6 other fly fishers in the floodway (I was the one with Brown Neoprene waders, and white sleeves on my shirt if anyone else was there). Fishing started slow for me when we were on the south side. There was a north wind, so I was having troubles casting into it. Getting tired of casting into the wind, we decided to head to the other side. so we hopped in the car and drove around.
Much easier wading on the north side. Less rocks/boulders to climb over, and much more gradual sloping (also more snags). Once on the north side, in my first 5 casts, I landed 4 Drum. All medium sized. Tried to take a picture, but the camera wouldn't turn on.... (figured out later that the battery was installed backwards). Got into a bunch more through the night (I'd guess a total of around 20 drum between the two of us). I also caught a small white bass.
At the end of the night (about 9:45 ish), I hooked into something bigger, but it broke off. I think I was a little too aggressive with it as I was used to just pulling in the drum.
All in all, a great night out on the water.

Were you guys able to drive in to the north side of the floodway off Hwy 204? The other morning I tried to go to the floodway and the access road in was blocked off by a gate. Had to walk in from the highway.

Well, nice to 'meet' you Harry.
As for driving down, The gate was closed, but there were lots of trucks that drove around it.
Truck/big SUV, no problem.
Small SUV? Be careful, but it's do-able.

I've only got a passenger vehicle. I've written to the Minister of Tourism and MLA for the area to find out wtf is going on.

I think the floodway authoraties closed the gate to prevent the motor vehicles from running over the tens of thousands of hikers and bikers that use the floodway trails.
