Not huge, given I was the only one catching last night, I am pretty happy. Kept running back into the current, fought this 33 inch kitty for many minutes (didn't time it, and as you know, time changes during the fight). Very happy, and had a small crowd cheer when I finally beached it. Attachments:

Hey Paul;
I did see a few carp, and fowl hooked one about 24 inches long, in the back dorsal fin area. They weren't feeding though, just trying to get up the river, and were held by the flow at the locks.

Was out for a couple hours Saturday pm. Lots of carp breaching but no takes.

Hey Bruce, were you fishing under the locks as well?

Tried there for a bit but I found the flows and levels are too high to get a decent drift. Maybe with a fast sink-tip line you could get the fly down - I forgot to bring mine along. I went down to the spilllway mouth after and worked the main channel - had one pretty good fish on, but it unbuttoned before I could see it.

Very nice fish. What kind of Rod weight do you recommend for going after these cats.

Thanx Stu. It was an olive woolly bugger.

Many use an 8wt. I fish with a 9 wt., but have also landed them on a 7 wt.
