Well, I was curious how bad it would be, and was hoping that maybe with the floodway being reactivated there might be some fishing to be had at the spillway. First of all, there wasn't enough water going through the floodway to have it go over the dam, though you could see the current on the north side from the gates that allow water through. The north side was also packed with fishers. I wish I had a good picture to show this, but I don't, so... Anyway, with the north wind backing up the Lake/River, the levels are very high in the spillway and the main channel. I thought I might try for some of the little pockets along the edge of the main channel and found it was totally impossible. Here are a couple of photos from the area near the dam.
Well, hopefully we get a south wind and some dry weather so we can get some fishing in again! Steve.

Thanks- I'm itching for my first time fishing out Lockport, didn't know if I should check it out or not. Thanks to whoever posted that "Getting Started" article. It was helpful.

I was out the spillway for a few hours today. Water was well past any of the reefs that are normally visible. Caught 4 Goldeye on white streamers, so if anyone's heading out soon I'd recommend a 6 weight and various white flies. Didn't even see a conventional angler catch a cat.

I would still fish the floodway even in this high water. If you know where the holes are you can still catch some cats. As you can see there are some really nice holes along the north side.

The water started over-topping the gate last night. Crazy.
