I'm taking Gord out to the river today for some Channel Cats and it should be fun. He was really curious when I talked to him at Cabela's and he just couldn't believe that you could do it. Here's hoping we have a banner day. If it goes according to plan he is going to write an article about it.

Are you fishing the spillway area or are you in the main channel looking for eddy currents? I only ask becasue I think the latter is near impossible out there right now and would love to know otherwise. Good luck, I hope to see the results posted somewhere in the near future!

Sounds like the wading spots might be a little crowded tonight. (or you going out for the day?) Ladies will be along tonight.

If it is anything like the last couple of days expect hundreds of carp to be feeding on or just below the surface and moving around in huge pods. It has been thick with them lately. They were pretty finicky and you could drop flies right in front of their faces that were completely ignored, but I was persistent and did manage to entice several.

I noticed a pod like you speak of last week as well. I spooked them and the water went nuts in about a 10ft circle... You think I could find it again after that though??? No dice

Well Gord had a great time but there was only 1 cat caught for 2 days of fishing. Lots of Drum and Gord also caught Pike, Sauger, and Goldeye. I landed the Cat, a couple of Carp out of those pods (what a blast) Drum, Pike and Goldeye. Gord with one of his Drum The Cat and Carp
