Hi all,
Just got back from the Red. Fished five of the points around were the spillway meets the river. Saw some carp surfacing but they were across the river out of range, with the wind being bad casting was a little challenging. eventually I switched from a streamer to a #12 Caddis Larvae pattern after flipping over some rocks. I drifted that under an indicator 2' deep. First cast with it I got a small Goldeye and that was it for the day.

Thanks for the report. At least you didn't get skunked!

Hit the main channel under the locks. You might have more luck. It is wade-able for those who know how to do so. For those who don't know how...it really isn't too tricky. Just start ~100m downstream from the concrete walkway and wade straight out. From there you can wade upstream.

There have been some new additions to the reef. Namely a number of larger rocks, boulders. Bring a wading stick or net to keep your balance.

Thanks for the advice. I will give it a shot next time I go. Sounds like a much better plan then fishing where I was at.
