I did something that I likely shouldn't have and ordered some waders online through Bass Pro Shops. I only did this because a family member had given me a giftcard for there and I was looking for some new ones. My question is how loose do you guys wear your waders? I used the sizing chart and thought I had the right measurements for xxl stout based on my height and weight and wanting to leave a bit of room for some warm layers should they be needed. I tried them on and I'm guessing theres 6 inches between the top of the wader and my chest. I could wear a winter parka in there and not be too tight. I think they are a couple sizes too big but maybe I'm just not used to the way they should fit? How do you guys wear your waders?

Well first you need room for LJ's and sweats in the cold weather. The jacket or parka can go over the waders because only the suicidal wade to their chest in cold weather or moving water.

You might enjoy having the extra space if you fish in a float tube. It will allow you a better range of movement. Also, it's a good place to store your wineskin.

How do they feel around the seat and the crotch? If you get a size smaller so the chest fits better, it might screw you up elsewhere?

Agree with Dale. Mine are very loose on me, but they have piles of room in the crotch area, and I use them 95% of the time in the tube, so I am sitting lots. Not too tight down there, and I get them comfortable around the waiste with a belt. On hot days, I have the belt holding up the chest part and take that right down. I would rather be too big than too small anyday.
