Went down yesterday in the a.m. and the water in the floodway was up a couple of feet but no Cats. Did manage to hook 3 Pike lost 2 to bite offs, 1 sauger and a nice plump walleye of 20 inches. Goldeye were rising like crazy at 6:00 a.m. but couldn't catch any of those either. Tried the main channel but the water was moving way to fast for this old fart so I didn't bother to fish it. Oh well I'll have to settle for another day.

was out for a couple hours this afternoon, and went home wit h a big goose egg... first of the year wich is expected this being my first year fly fishing and the red can cause some challenges
still havent landed a cat or carp which is my goal, one of these days...
saw one other guy giving the long rod a try in the main channel on the south side mouth of the floodway and looked like he hooked up a couple times and from the entire white bucket brigade i only saw 2 pike and a bullhead caught
