Well there were a few guys out last night and everyone was having some kind of success. Pike, Goldeye, Drum, Cats, and Carp were all caught but what really amazed me was this critter I caught. Never in a million years did I think these guys would be in the floodway. Some homework is in order here.

Yes quite the surprise. You never know what you'll catch in the Red River system. Thanks for taking this pic last night Stu! Stu: How long do you think that fish was? ...your photo makes it look a lot bigger!

The water has probably come up a foot or so since last week. Water is slightly more murky and a lot of debris was pushed into the spillway.
Shoulda seen the amount of fins poking through at sunset, the carp were showing themselves even more than in the early evening.

Yeah figured I'd try something different...take some casts into the current seam!

Joel that fish was a solid 33 inches and I might add that Joel was the only one who landed a Cat.

Yeah I was thinking 33"-34"
Always a dual effort when taking a picture. If the photographer gets in close and fills the frame and the angler holds the fish out far from their body, the size of the fish can appear much larger.
