I guess this is a "product review", so I'm going to post it in this sub-forum. I was going to write a long post about how crappy the Environment Canada weather forecasts are, but I would probably be preaching to the choir. So, to make a long story short, next time you're looking for a weather forecast for the upcoming weekend, try the Norwegian weather forecasting service: www.yr.noThey have detailed forecasts for many manitoba locations, including some that Environment Canada doesn't even have (like Nopiming Park... important for my last trip). Basically they're running a weather model for the entire globe, so they can produce forecasts for anywhere. And in my opinion the seem to be better at it than Environment Canada. My observations of using this website are totally anecdotal, but their long-term forecasts seem to be more stable, and more accurate. The 2 to 3 day forecasts seem to be really good. My last two weekend trips I checked the weather on Friday before I left, and the weekends unfolded exactly as the Norwegians predicted. They also give hour-by-hour forecasts for rain and wind (thank goodness they actually forecast wind) 2 days out. Anyways, it sounds stupid, but give it a try. You might like it. A good weather forecast is one of the best tools an angler can have. Especially when the weather can be completely different 2 hours to the west or 2 hours to the east.
