Went out in hopes for some kitties. Got drum, goldeye, sauger...then I waded back to shore, but stumbled upon a deep spot and water gets into my chestpocket and fries my cellphone (dont know why I kept it on me! and why they don't make these pockets waterproof?!?) I think some of my waders in the past were waterproof up to the zipper of the pocket...however this pair has a perforated pocket!?! That was enough...drive to the floodway. Snag a rock in the deep pool...tip section of my rod falls in too (still have not waxed the ferrule...lol) and I end up losing my fly and tip section of my rod. Back to the car...drive back to the main channel and spool up my 7 wt. Only sense of consolation was a 32.5" carp.

Dang man, that's a rough day! lol. Sorry to hear bout your tip section...and sorry to say but I told you so! lol.
I was out at Lockport yesterday with my bro and I got one dinker pike and that was it. Seems as though the cold front really screwed things up. On Friday the fishing was borderline epic!

Glad to see I'm not the only one with bad days....
First time fishing with my brother: Cracked my sunglasses Wrecked a force fin (cracked in half) Broke a rod and lost a paddle to my pontoon!
At least you made out with a few catches!

Lost a pair of glasses in Bower once in the bog,,,Really thick sick stuff Drove home and went up to P/A bought a strong magnet Went back to bower attached it to the end of my fly rod fished around a bit in the area which was at least 6 ft deep,, Heard and felt a click sound through the rod sure enough i got them worked well PRINCESS AUTO...! Now if you had a good three prong len thompson old spoon hook,,,you could have dredged the river bottom you probly would have snagged it.. the other section of your rod.. Go back and try i would find a huge TREBLE 3/0 would work well to... best of luck,

Get a mask and snorkel, go down and get it. The mask will keep your eyes clear, but you won't see anything of course. You can feel around for it with your hands.
I admit it isn't too delightful of a thought to get that water in facial orifices, but humans have been in worse places! I have done this before. Hope I don't have to do it again anytime soon.

Couldn't find it for the life of me..... A week later, scouted the same spot - reel down, tip up - looked like it fit right in amongst the reeds. Felt like it was my luckiest day!

I've had the tip come off my rod a few times... Not a good feeling... Stripping line in as fast as possible before something snags.
