Hello All,
Just checking in as a new member to your board. Myself and my fiance had been looking enviously at fly fishers we had encountered whenever we went out with our spincast gear, and finally decided to take the plunge and try it.
Long story short, while being miserably untalented, poorly geared and green as grass, we ended up having the most fun out on the water in years trying our hands at our first casts with a fly rod.
So we're both hooked, and looking for ways to improve our skills, knowledge and gear. We live in Winnipeg and look forward to our first MFFA meeting. Thanks in advance for all the advice I have and will steal from this forum!

forget RRSP contributions!
You will be finding new gadgets and materials for fly tying to invest your money into ;D

And the return on the investment on the fly gear is much more satisfying than rrsp's ....

Since today's trip to the store involved significant expenditure and at the same time lengthened my 'must have' list, I think the gadget to RRSP ratio is already tipped over to the wetter side of things. Ah, well. What good is money just sitting around being money instead of being something tangible like a new rod or some such thing?
