Anyone have a recommendation for a depth finder that works very well?

No complaints about my fishin buddy. Mounts to the tube nicely, not too bad on batteries as long as you unplug the screen after each use. Decent detail on the screen. Tell me what I need to know to locate fish. Worth the $120 I think I paid at The Fish'n Hole,

What is the battery life on that one? What batteries does it take?

I had tracked it before. I must get close to 30 or 40 hours out of a decent set of betteries at least. I used mine this year about 5 or 6 times (full day trips) and the batteries I put in sometime last fall just crapped out last weekend. I am happy with the battery life for sure.

That's good to know. Should be a worthwhile investment.

Hmm...might have to invest in one of these after a pair of replacement waders. This seems to be the best bet for the tube. And if you're not catching fish atleast you have something to watch. lol.

I have a Fishing Buddy II, the older style that uses 3 C batteries. I don't use it any more since getting a pontoon boat. PM me if you are interested in it. $30. It looks both down and sideways and works fine. batteries are new and they last as the others describe. i bought a Hummingbird 215 with a dual cone 60 degree view. Because of the wider view it marks far more fish on the bottom.
