Nice job! I like the colour scheme and the quality of the work is good. Something I learned when tying Thunder Creek minnows was applying paint. I used pieces of round dowel in different diameters and just dipped it in the paint and pressed it on the fly for a good round spot/eye. A smaller one did the pupil. I am not criticizing at all, the fish won't care if the spots are round or not. Can I ask what hook you used? It certainly does the job!

This is 1 of few which have painted eyes. I now use doll eyes most of the time but I like the look of painted one better.
The hook is a daichi 2720 size 1/0.

Do you manage to keep the doll eyes attached after a pike? That was my problem. I totally agree on the painted eyes. You make a nicely shaped popper body and I love the tail you built! Great colour combo, are you fishing these up in shallow reed beds?

To keep the eyes on I drill (sand) two hole on the side then apply some sally Hensons hard as nail (or Epoxy) in the hole and apply the eye. Then coat over the eye with more sally hensons hard as nails. Haven't lost one yet.
I fish this one around down trees and rocky areas.

recessing the eyes makes sense, thanks! Because you like poppers I thought I would share this. I found these in an antique shop, not sure how antique they are. The first is a commercially made popper of sorts and the second two pictures are of a copy the first by I assume the owner of it. Not something you see every day. The copy

If you like classic poppers check out Creek Hunter classic peppermint poppers. He is probably one of the best popper makers on the site. (No offense to you other guys. He does make a deadly popper.)

I tried googling these but no luck, then I thought maybe they are here somewhere? Are there pictures somewhere?

Nice looking stuff... Hey Chris, what weight rod would you sling those poppers around with? Do you ever catch Perch Lake browns on a popper?

I'm slinging these with a 6 wt Dale. (Using the old rod). Never caught a brownie at perch with one of these. Those Perch lake browns are the pickiest fish I have ever fished for. When they key out on a certain food have fun trying to figure it out. Took me 2 hours to figure it out the first time I went their this years. If it weren't for those Damsels I would have gone home fishless.
