I was just reading Stus post about the cats, and was thinking, so where do they go when they go? Does this mean they do not winter in the river? Cheers Ron.

The Cats do move into the deeper holes in the river now. You really do need a boat with a depth finder to find all the holes. For example there are a couple of holes across from Cats on the Red by the marker bouys but to fish it the way it has to be fished you need a boat. These holes are approx. 19-20 feet deep and can't be reached from the shore. When the water gets like this it is pretty hard to fish Cats effectively the way we like to do it. Mind you if you want a good chance at catching a few MA Sauger get down there with a fly that is a flame orange at the head and yellow chartreuse body. You can catch tons of them and a few big ones at that.

Thanks Stu, as as always you are a deep hole of knowledge yourself. Cheers Ron.
