Been out there for the last couple of days. Fantastic weather and still a few Cats kicking around. Hooked into 5 fish yesterday and only landed one of them. Out of practise I guess. Anyway a pic of the one landed. Caught on what else...... The big Sauger are in the river now too. Saw about 15 fish that would have topped 18 inches. The guy was using a flame orange jig head with a yellow chartreuse twister tail and he was hauling them in like crazy.

Stu .... if ya saw the rocks, riffles and holes I found (yes - in the river - at the end of the woods out west) .... it takes times to get to them all .........
I'll be guessing a brown ddh on that pretty kitty.

Nice fish Stu. Looks like the river is almost empty! Should be easy to find the holes. Have not been their once this year. Cheers Ron.

The river is down another 3-4 feet. The holes I was fishing on Tue. were high and dry today. The Cats have all but disappeared. There is always next year.

What a year for water levels on the Red! I was out sometime around Sept 10 - 15 and the water was too high to be able to wade out to the reef (As much a wind-tide event as it was high flows.). Had to stick to shore but did manage one nice cat to end the year. Stu, when I saw your pics, and a more normal river level, I realized that I had not seen those rocks all season!....TIM
