Picked up a 4 piece this spring. Figured I'd treat myself. Originally I was going to pick up the Sage Launch series and found a deal I couldn't resist on an Fli. (slightly cheaper than the Launch retail) My first impression was "wow!". The worksmanship is stunning. Then I cast it. And "wow!". The fast tip and sturdy back bone, allow you to pound big flies into the wind with relative ease and make long driving casts. The small diameter of the 9wt is deceiving, looking like it wouldn't have any back bone. However, it is very responsive, sensitive, and has a fair bit of power! It's sensitive enough I was drifting number 10 scud patterns and still able to feel the nymph ticking off the rocks in the current. Very impressed with this rod and will definitely buy another Sage! Looking at the Bass Series rods now. Nick

Do you have a #9 or a #10 line on it?
Does it still have "feel" on short casts?
Regardless, I've eyed those things in the store a few times and they look like really nice sticks...

Yea I've got a 9wt line on it. It loads very nice and even with short casts you can feel it load on back casts.
All in all, a very great stick for the money.

I have a #5 Fli and love it as well. Great rods... too bad they discontinued the line.

The Flight series is the "new" Fli. I dunno what they changed on it but it's slightly more expensive.

I wanted an 8wt. so I originally ordered the Launch series from a store. 3 months passed and they still didn't get it in. So I bought the FLi yesterday from another place. Can't wait to try it out!

Well, after using it many times on Browns, Smallmouth, etc, I must say, it is a great rod!

I just bought a 5wt Fli and can't wait to try it out this weekend. My 9wt is supposed to be back from warranty this week. Blew it up on a hookset. My trademark move from my hardware bass fishing days.

UPDATE
The rod performed excellent after I got it back from warranty. They replaced the upper section of the four piece rod. The rest is all the original. Kind of blows I had to pay for shipping it all. But they got it back to me pretty quickly. About 3 weeks.
I have a 9wt and a 5wt FLi. I recently just put new line on the 9wt reel and I'll be running a floating line and an intermediate line. I plan on using the intermediate line most often and my 8wt for floating applications.
