Hello everyone. I am new to the board and just wanted to say hi. I live in Alberta but grew up in Saskatchewan. It is good to see a fly fishing forum where everyone seems to get along. Out here there are so many people that always have something negative to say about any post that gets made.
I am hoping to make it out to the parkland area sometime next fall (2009). I have been fly fishing for 3 summers now and am completely hooked. I have fished since I was a kid but just took up fly fishing on an outing with my dad in Saskatchewan. I have fly fished many waters in Alberta and Sask and I have been researching you parkland lakes and stocking program. Seems to be a first class fishery and an excellent stocking program. I split my time evenly between lakes and mountain streams.
I was just wondering what your favorite lakes to fish are. If I make it out that way I would probably fish for 3 to 4 days. I would like to persue browns or tigers. Rainbows are fun but I get my fill of them out here. I have fished for and caught tigers in Saskatchewan and browns here in alberta. Just wondering if any of you have some direction for me when I get there so that I don't spend the few days driving from place to place or trying to find waters. I don't mind reading a map or driving long distances as long as I know what's at the other end. Finding the fish on the lake is something I don't mind figuring out because just being on the water and throwing my rod around is good enough for me. The fish are just a bonus. Thanks in advance.
